Quiche Lorraine(Egg, Bacon And Cheese Pie)
- Unbaked Deep Dish Pie Shell
- 12 slices of bacon (about 1/2 lb), crisply fried and crumbled
- 1 cup shredded natural swiss cheese (about 4 ounces)
- 1/2 cup minced onion
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups Carnation evaporated milk
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp sugar
- 1/8 tsp ground cayenne red pepper (powder)
- Heat oven to 425 degrees.
- Sprinkle bacon, cheese and onion in pie shell.
- Beat eggs slightly, beat in remaining ingredients. Pour mixture into pie pan.
- Bake 15 minutes.
- Reduce oven temperature to 300 degrees and bake 30 minutes longer or until knife inserted 1 inch from edge comes out clean.
- Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
- Makes 6 meal size servings or 8 appetizer size servings.
- Left overs can be reheated in microwave.
