Lower-Sugar Chocolate Squares
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 14 cup ground flax seeds (or wheat germ)
- 14 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 2 egg whites (1/2 cup egg substitute)
- 34 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons unsweetened applesauce
- 5 tablespoons canola oil
- 13 cup nonfat milk
- 1 cup zucchini, peeled and shredded
- 12 cup mashed banana (1 medium ripe banana)
- 12 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- In a large bowl, sift all the dry ingredients together and make a well in the center of the bowl.
- In another bowl, mix all the wet ingredients together then pour into the well in the bowl with the dry ingredients.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Grease a 9x13 pan with cooking spray, and pour the batter inches Bake at 350F for 25 minutes or until set, then let cool and cut into 24 squares.
