Cocoa Apple Cake(Tender And Keeps Well)
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 2 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1/2 c. chocolate bits
- 2 apples, minced (without core)
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Using a 10-inch cake pan, grease and flour the pan bottom. Preheat oven to 325u0b0.
- Beat together eggs, butter (or margarine), sugar and water.
- Sift together the flour, baking soda, allspice, cocoa and cinnamon; after mixed, sift dry ingredients into egg mixture while stirring.
- Mix well.
- Fold in nuts, chocolate, apples and vanilla.
- Pour into cake pan.
- Bake at 325u0b0 for 60 to 70 minutes, until top springs back if touched lightly.
