Angel Bavarian Cake
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 pt. milk
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- pinch of salt
- 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
- 1/2 c. cold water
- 1 tsp. almond flavoring
- 4 egg whites
- 1 angel food cake
- 1/2 pt. whipping cream
- 1 pkg. frozen coconut
- In double boiler, mix egg yolks, milk, flour, sugar and salt. Stir over boiling water until thickened.
- Dissolve gelatin in water and add to cooked mixture.
- Beat egg whites until stiff and fold in mixture.
- Add flavoring.
- Break cake into small pieces and cover bottom of large casserole dish with cake, pour on layer of egg yolk mixture.
- Repeat until all is used.
- Chill and top with whipped cream and coconut before serving (I think 1/2 teaspoon almond flavoring is enough).
