Sausage Mostaccioli Bake
- 8 oz. mostaccioli (3 1/2 c.)
- 1 1/2 lb. bulk pork sausage
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, cut up
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/4 tsp. dried oregano, crushed
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 6 oz. shredded American cheese (1 1/2 c.)
- Cook pasta according to package directions.
- Drain.
- In skillet, cook sausage, onion, green pepper and garlic until meat is brown and onion is tender.
- Drain off fat.
- Stir undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, water, oregano and pepper into mixture in skillet.
- Stir in cooked pasta.
- Spoon half of the mostaccioli mix into a 3-quart casserole.
- Sprinkle with half the cheese.
- Top with remaining mostaccioli mix.
- Bake in 350u0b0 oven for 35 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
- Bake about 5 minutes more or until the cheese melts.
- Makes 8 servings.
