Chocolate-Covered Cherry Cookies

  1. Sift dry ingredients together.
  2. Beat margarine and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add egg and vanilla and beat.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients, beating until blended.
  5. Shape into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Press in center with thumb to make indentation.
  7. Drain cherries saving liquid.
  8. Place cherry in indentation.
  9. Prepare frosting.
