Sally Ann Cookies Recipe
- 1 c. shortening (Spry)
- 1 c. molasses
- 1 1/2 c. warm coffee
- 4 c. flour (more if you roll out)
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 2 teaspoon soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Fold in usual manner.
- Refrigeratedough.
- Roll into balls.
- Flatten with fork.
- Bake till lightly brown in 350 degree oven.
- Frosting: Soak for awhile 1 package unflavored gelatin and 1 c. cool water.
- Add in 1 c. sugar.
- Stir in heavy pan.
- Bring to a rolling boil.
- Boil and simmer 10 min.
- Pour mix over 1 3/4 c. powdered sugar.
- Add in 3/4 tsp.
- baking pwdr and 1 tsp.
- vanilla.
- Beat till thick.
- Frost bottom of cookies.
