Rogalach(Crescent Cookies From Grams)
- 1 c. sweet butter
- 1/2 lb. cottage cheese
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
- 1 beaten egg white
- Mix the butter, cheese and salt in mixer until creamy.
- Mix in flour and blend thoroughly.
- Make 14 balls from this mix.
- Wrap in waxed paper and refrigerate overnight.
- Make the filling of the nuts, sugar and cinnamon and add the beaten white of an egg.
- The next day, roll each ball into a 6-inch circle.
- Cut each circle into 6 pie shaped wedges.
- Place 1/2 teaspoon of filling on each section and roll, beginning at the wide end.
- Form into crescents and place on ungreased cookie sheets.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
- Bake at 375u0b0 until lightly browned, about 7 or 8 minutes.
