Apple-Stuffed Sausage Patties
- 1 lb. pork or turkey sausage
- 1/2 lb. ground lean beef
- 1/4 c. finely chopped celery
- 1/4 c. finely chopped onion
- vegetable spray
- 1/4 c. apple juice
- 3/4 c. herb seasoned stuffing mix
- 3/4 c. finely chopped apple
- 2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
- 1/4 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- Preheat oven to 375u0b0.
- Mix sausage and beef; shape into ten 1/4-inch thick patties.
- Spray saucepan with vegetable spray; add celery and onion.
- Cook until tender.
- Remove from heat.
- Add juice; stir in stuffing mix, apple, parsley, mustard and pepper. Place about 1/4 cup stuffing atop each of 5 patties, spreading to within 1/2 inch of edges.
- Top each with remaining 5 patties, pressing meat around edges to seal.
