French Sesame Bread

  1. Combine 2 1/2 cups flour, salt and undissolved yeast.
  2. Add warm water to dry ingredients and beat 2 minutes at medium speed, scraping bowl.
  3. Add 1 cup flour and beat 2 minutes at high speed. Stir in enough additional flour to make a soft dough.
  4. Knead 4 to 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place in greased bowl, turn to grease top.
  6. Cover and let rise until doubled (1 to 1 1/2 hours).
  7. Punch down dough; divide into 3 balls.
  8. Place on greased baking sheets which have been sprinkled with corn meal.
  9. Make several gashes on top of each loaf.
  10. Cover; let rise until doubled (about 1 hour).
  11. Bake at 450u0b0 for 20 minutes.
