Chinese Long Rice Chop Suey Recipe
- 1 pound lean pork, cut in strips
- 1/4 pound bamboo shoots
- 1 lg. carrot
- 1/2 pound string beans
- 1 lg. round onion
- 1/2 cauliflower
- 1 bundle long rice, soaked in water 20 min & cut up
- 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 sm. piece ginger, finely minced
- 2 c. chicken broth
- 1 sm. can sliced mushrooms
- 1 bunch green onions
- Julienne vegetables.
- Saute/fry pork with garlic and ginger in pan with a little oil.
- Add in broth and vegetables.
- Cook 5 min.
- Add in long rice, cook another 10 min.
- Remove from heat.
- Add in green onions.
- Mix 1/4 c. shoyu, 1 tsp.
- brown sugar, 1 tsp.
- salt and 2 Tbsp.
- red wine for sauce.
- Add in sauce to chop suey.
- Stir well.
- Serve warm.
