Texas Cornbread Casserole
- 1/2 lb. sausage
- 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 green pepper, diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 can tomato soup
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 tsp. vinegar
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1/8 tsp. paprika
- 8 1/2 oz. pkg. cornbread mix
- Brown meat and drain.
- Add onions and green peppers and cook until tender.
- Mix in remaining ingredients, except cornbread mix and paprika.
- Place the meat mixture in bottom of a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
- Prepare cornbread mix as directed on package and spread onto the meat mixture.
- Sprinkle with paprika and bake at 400u0b0 for 25 minutes.
- Let stand for 2 to 3 minutes before serving.
