Pastelon

  1. Brown beef with all seasonings, sofrito, & onion.
  2. Then add tomatoes.
  3. Cook till some of liquid evaporates, then set aside.
  4. Preheat oven @ 375.
  5. In a greased with butter 9x13 or lasagna pan, layer the tostones covering bottom of pan in 1 layer.
  6. Top with ground beef mixture, then green beans, & then cheese.
  7. Repeat for 2 more layers.
  8. Pour beaten eggs over whole dish, especially the corners.
  9. Fork so the egg can distribute through because it acts as a binder for cutting later (like lasagna).
  10. Top with layer of cheese, cover with foil & bake for 30 - 40 minutes.
  11. Let stand for @ least 15 minutes before serving to make sure the egg binds it better.
  12. Then serve with green beans or salad.
