Round Steak And Rice

  1. Cut steak into 6 serving pieces.
  2. Combine flour, salt and pepper.
  3. Dredge meat.
  4. Pound into both sides.
  5. Brown meat in the oil in large frying pan.
  6. Dissolve instant beef bouillon in hot water.
  7. Pour over meat.
  8. Cover tightly.
  9. Cook slowly for 1 1/2 hours.
  10. Melt butter in large pan.
  11. Add rice, carrots, celery, green onions and thyme leaves.
  12. Cook slowly for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  13. Remove 1/2 cup liquid from meat, adding enough water to make 1 1/2 cups.
  14. Stir into rice mixture.
  15. Cover tightly.
  16. Cook 15 minutes (or until tender).
  17. Place around steak on meat platter. May make gravy using juice from steak.
