Sams sly cake

  1. Heat the oven to hot 220c divide the pastry in half and roll out each piece on a lightly floured surface into a 15cm square about 2mm thick
  2. Melt the fat, chopped apple,and mix with sultanas, sugar spice and melted butter
  3. Spread the mix on one piece of pastry, lay the other piece on top and seal the edges well
  4. Mark the top into squares with the back of a knife without cutting through the pastry, glaze with beaten egg or milk
  5. Put on a baking sheet and bake for 20 to 30 minutes until golden Brown
  6. Cut into squares and dust with caster sugar
