Midori Macaroons

  1. In a mixing bowl crumble almond paste.
  2. Gradually add sugar.
  3. Add 2 egg whites to almond paste mixture.
  4. Beat until smooth (dough will be stiff).
  5. Insert large star tube in pastry bag.
  6. Fill with dough.
  7. Using a slight swirling motion, squeeze dough onto well-greased cookie sheet.
  8. Lift tube 1/4-inch from pan until dough breaks easily.
  9. Or, drop dough from teaspoon onto well-greased cookie sheet.
  10. Bake at 350 F for 15-18 minutes.
  11. Immediately remove from pan, cool on rack, and ice with Midori Icing.
  12. ----MidoriIcing------.
  13. Mix icing ingredients together until spreadable.
