Apricot Pecan Squares

  1. Cover apricots with water and boil 10 minutes; drain.
  2. Cool. Cut in small pieces (scissors).
  3. Cream butter and sugar; add 1 cup flour.
  4. Pat firmly in ungreased 7 x 11-inch pan (put flour on hands).
  5. Bake 25 minutes at 350u0b0 (light brown).
  6. Blend eggs and brown sugar.
  7. Add additional flour, baking powder and vanilla; blend.
  8. Add apricots and pecans.
  9. Spread carefully over already cooked mixture and bake 30 minutes at 350u0b0.
  10. Cool.
  11. Sprinkle powdered sugar on top.
  12. Cut in bars.
