Asparagus, Cream Cheese and Olive Oil Pizza
- 1 each pizza dough about 16-inch, prefer whole wheat
- 1 x olive oil, extra-virgin for brushing
- 8 ounces mozzarella cheese prefer fresh, sliced, or shredded
- 1 bunch asparagus ends trimmed and well washed and dry
- 5 1/2 ounces cream cheese prefer garlic-herb seasoned, or any your favorite flavor, or plain
- 1 x black pepper freshly ground
- Preheat oven to 450 F.
- Stretch your pizza dough into a large circle 16 inches in diameter and arrange on your pizza pan or stone.
- Brush dough with about 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
- Place sliced or shredded mozzarella cheese in a single layer over dough.
- Shave asparagus into ribbons with a vegetable peeler.
- Place shaved asparagus over the mozzarella.
- The asparagus will get thinner and smaller during baking in the oven.
- Top asparagus with several some freshly ground black pepper and dot generously with cream cheese.
- Bake for about 15 minutes or until crust turns into golden brown.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes.
- Slice and serve warm.
