Heath Candy Cookies
- 1 box soda crackers
- 2 sticks margarine (not lite or soft)
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips (you can use butterscotch or peanut butter chips, if desired)
- Line a cookie sheet with foil; butter foil lightly.
- Break soda crackers into squares and place close together on foil.
- Melt 2 sticks of margarine in pan with 1 cup brown sugar.
- Bring to boil and boil for 1 minute.
- Add soda.
- Stir.
- Pour over crackers and bake at 375u0b0 for 10 minutes.
- Do not overbake.
- When done and while still hot, pour 12 ounce package (I use less) of chocolate chips over crackers and let sit a couple of minutes.
- Spread melted bits over crackers.
- Let cool.
- Break or cut into pieces.
- Tastes like Heath bars.
- This covers about 40 small squares of crackers and I cut each in half (80 cookies).
