California Gold Bars Recipe
- 1 c. C and H Golden Sugar firmly packed
- 1 c. Butter or possibly margarine
- 1 x Egg
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1 3/4 c. All-purpose flour
- 1 c. Minced walnuts
- 1/2 c. Apricot jam
- Beat together sugar, butter, egg and vanilla till smooth and creamy.
- Stir in flour and nuts.
- Spoon half the batter in a greased 9-inch square pan; spread proportionately.
- Spread batter proportionately with jam.
- Cover jam with remaining batter.
- Bake in 325 degree oven 50 min.
- Cold 10 min.
- Cut into 32 bars (1 x 2 inches).
