Pecan Spice Cake
- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground mace
- 1 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- 1/4 c. molasses
- 1 c. milk
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- Grease 8-inch square baking pan.
- Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and spices together into a large mixing bowl.
- Place butter in a large mixing bowl and cream until soft.
- Gradually beat in the sugar and eggs.
- Stir in pecans.
- Add the flour mixture alternately with molasses and milk, beating well after each addition.
- Spoon into pan.
- Bake 40 to 50 minutes.
