Chewy Caramel Bars

  1. Toss cereal and peanuts in large bowl.
  2. Place caramels and water in top of double boiler; heat over boiling water until caramels are completely melted, stirring occasionally.
  3. Pour over cereal mixture; mix lightly until well coated.
  4. Press cereal mixture firmly into parchment paper-lined full hotel pan (or half hotel pan for trial recipe).
  5. Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm.
  6. Cut into bars.
  7. Store in tightly covered container at room temperature.
