Mocha-Walnut Christmas Cookies
- 12 oz. (2 c.) Nestle semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 2 Tbsp. Nestle instant coffee
- 2 tsp. boiling water
- 1 1/4 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. soft butter
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 3/4 c. finely chopped nuts
- Melt 1/2 cup morsels over hot boiling water.
- Stir until smooth and cool to room temperature.
- In
- a cup, dissolve instant coffee in boiling water.
- In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt.
- In a large bowl, combine butter, sugar, brown sugar and coffee.
- Heat until creamy.
- Add egg and melted chocolate.
- Gradually add flour mixture.
- Stir in remaining 1 1/2 cups chocolate morsels and nuts.
- Drop by tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350u0b0 for 10 to 12 minutes. Yields 24 (3-inch) cookies.
