Almond Tea Ring

  1. Mix yeast
  2. and warm water.
  3. Place All-Bran, scalded milk, shortening, 1/2 cup sugar and salt in mixing bowl until lukewarm. Add yeast mixture, eggs, flavor and 2 cups flour.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Add remaining flour and mix thoroughly.
  6. Knead 10 minutes.
  7. Place in greased bowl and allow to raise until double
  8. (2 hours).
  9. Divide into 2 parts.
  10. Roll each 22 x 1/4-inch thick.
  11. Spread
  12. with oleo; sprinkle with sugar and nuts.
  13. Roll tightly and press
  14. edge together.
  15. Place on greased sheet in a circle. Cut diagonally with
  16. shears
  17. at
  18. 1-inch
  19. intervals,
  20. turning
  21. each cut slightly. Let raise until double.
  22. Bake at 350u0b0 for 20 minutes.
  23. Glaze with 10x sugar
  24. frosting
  25. and
  26. top
  27. with
  28. maraschino
  29. cherries and more almonds.
