Creamy Holiday Fruit Salad

  1. Drain pineapple, reserving 2 tablespoons juice.
  2. Set aside. Combine egg yolks, sugar and salt in a heavy saucepan.
  3. Gradually add reserved pineapple juice, vinegar and butter.
  4. Cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
  5. Remove from heat; cool.
  6. Combine pineapple, cherries and miniature marshmallows in a bowl.
  7. Fold egg mixture into whipped cream. Pour over fruit, stirring gently to coat.
  8. Cover and chill 8 hours.
