Meringue for Pies
- 4 Egg Whites @ room temperature
- 1/4 tsp Cream of Tartar
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla
- Beat egg whites and cream of Tartar until peaks form.
- Gradually add 1/2 cup sugar and continue to beat until peaks are stiff & glossy but not dry.
- Beat in 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.
- Top your filled pie anchoring the meringue to the edges of pie crust all the way around.
- Bake in 375F oven for 20 minutes or until top of meringue browns good.
- Let pie cool completely @ room temperature before refrigerating.
