Palmiers Made with OREO

  1. Mix 3/4 cup sugar (or 1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp.
  2. sugar for trial recipe) and base cake until blended; sprinkle about 1/4 cup onto clean work surface.
  3. Top with 1 pastry sheet; press pastry lightly into sugar mixture.
  4. Sprinkle with about 1/4 cup of the remaining sugar mixture; press lightly into pastry.
  5. Score line down center of the shorter length of the pastry sheet.
  6. Fold in 1/3 of each side of pastry sheet toward scored line.
  7. Repeat fold on each side 2 times.
  8. (Both folds should meet in center.)
  9. Fold one half over the other.
  10. Cut into 20 slices.
  11. Repeat with remaining pastry sheet.
  12. Dip dough slices, 1 at a time, in remaining sugar, turning to coat both sides of each slice.
  13. Place, 2 inches apart, on parchment-lined baking sheets.
  14. Bake in 400 degrees F standard oven 10 to 15 min.
  15. or until caramelized.
  16. Serve warm or transfer to a baking rack to cool.
