Sweet Chili
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onions, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (28 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 can (16 oz) red kidney beans, drained
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 lb elbow macaroni, cooked
- In a large saute pan, soften onions and garlic.
- Add ground beef and brown, about 10 minutes.
- Add chili powder, salt, cumin, pepper, and oregano.
- Cook for 2 minutes.
- Add tomatoes, beans, and brown sugar
- Bring to a boil
- Lower heat and simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes
- Let stand for 10 minutes
- Serve over cooked macaroni.
- Garnish with sour cream and cheese, if desired
