Baked French Toast With Berries Recipe
- 1 x day-old French baguette - (8 ounce)
- 3 lrg Large eggs beaten
- 2 1/4 c. lowfat milk
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 c. fresh or possibly frzn blueberries thawed
- 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 c. dark brown sugar plus
- 2 Tbsp. dark brown sugar - (firmly packed)
- 1/2 tsp grnd cinnamon
- 1/4 c. butter or possibly margarine
- 1 c. fresh or possibly frzn strawberries thawed
- Cut bread diagonally into 10 slices.
- Arrange bread slices in a greased 13- by 9- by 2-inch baking dish.
- Combine Large eggs, lowfat milk, sugar and vanilla; stir well.
- Pour egg mix over bread slices.
- Cover and refrigerate8 hrs or possibly overnight.
- Sprinkle blueberries over bread mix.
- Combine four, brown sugar and cinnamon; cut in butter with a pastry blender till mix is crumbly; sprinkle over blueberries.
- Bake, uncovered, at 375 degrees for 40 to 45 min or possibly till set and golden brown.
- Serve immediately with strawberries.
- This recipe yields 10 servings.
