Italian Sausage with Cheese Tortellini in a Garlic Lemon Cream Sauce

  1. Heat a nonstick skillet on medium high heat.
  2. Brown sausage and drain fat.
  3. Set aside.
  4. Boil water and cook tortellini per directions on bag.
  5. In the same skillet used to cook sausage, melt butter and add flour.
  6. Whisk together and let cook for 2 minutes.
  7. Add heavy cream and continue whisking for a few more minutes.
  8. Add garlic, lemon zest and juice, grape tomatoes, sausage, a sprinkle of salt and fresh ground pepper; let simmer.
  9. Once tortellini are cooked and drained, add into sauce and stir to combine.
  10. Sprinkle with parsley when serving.
