Marinated Beef With Tomato Sauce
- 1 can (10 oz ) condensed tomato soup
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
- 2 tsp. LEA & PERRINS Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 tsp. dried thyme leaves
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 lb. beef flank steak or round steak Safeway 1 lb For $5.99 thru 02/09
- Combine soup, onion, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, thyme and garlic powder in shallow non-metallic bowl.
- Pound steak on both sides with a meat mallet to tenderize.
- Marinate in soup mixture, covered and refrigerated for 4 hours.
- Broil steak on broiler pan for 5-8 minutes per side or to desired doneness.
- Boil remaining marinade in small saucepan, simmer over low heat 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- To serve, slice steak across the grain and top with sauce.
