Asparagus Sandwich

  1. In a steamer basket over boiling water, steam asparagus for 3-5 minutes or until fork tender, but NOT overcooked.
  2. Rinse immediately under cold water.
  3. Set aside until ready to use.
  4. SAUCE: Combine the balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar and garlic in a small saucepan.
  5. Add 2 tablespoons of water.
  6. Over medium heat, reduce by half.
  7. Add the green onion.
  8. Adjust seasoning.
  9. In a small bowl, combine the cream cheese, chives and tarragon.
  10. Set aside.
  11. In a toaster oven or under a broiler, toast one side of each of the baguette slices.
  12. Spread each with a small amount of the cream cheese mixture.
  13. Arrange the asparagus, drizzle with vinegarette.
  14. Add desired seasoning of S&P.
  15. Add sliced radishes (optional).
