Sweet and Sour Shrimp
- 20 to 30 shrimp, thawed, deveined and peeled
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 4 tbsp. olive
- canola oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 to 2 stalk green onions
- 2 to 3 slices
- 2/3 cup dry white wine
- rice wine
- 1/3 cup sesame oil
- Rinse shrimp under cold water, drain, and place in bowl.
- Add wine and sesame oil to shrimp and mix well, making sure the shrimp is nicely coated.
- Let it sit for about 15-30 minutes.
- Depending on the size of your shrimp, there should be enough wine and sesame oil to coat the shrimp, but not cover it.
- Meanwhile, mince the garlic and chop the onions.
- Heat oil in pan until hot.
- Once the oil is hot, dump the shrimp in (wine, sesame oil and all) and saute for about three minutes.
- Then add garlic and green onion.
- Saute until shrimp is done - about 15-20 minutes.
- The shrimp will release lots of liquid - it's ok. After shrimp is done, keep the heat on, and pour on the ketchup.
- If you like, you can add a tiny bit more ketchup until there is a nice saucy coating.
- Serve with hot white rice.
