Tomato Cheese Tart
- 1/2 pkg. pie crust mix
- 1 c. (4 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese
- 2 (6 oz.) pkg. shredded Swiss cheese
- 3 ripe medium-size tomatoes
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. basil
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 c. chopped green onions sauteed in 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 Tbsp. soft bread crumbs
- Prepare pie crust mix following label directions, adding 1/2 cup of the Cheddar cheese.
- Roll out or flatten and push into pie plate bottom and up the sides.
- Prick with fork, sides and bottom. Bake in hot oven, 425u0b0, for 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool.
- Spoon remaining Cheddar and Swiss cheeses into pie crust.
- Slice the tomatoes into thin wedges.
- Arrange, slightly overlapping in an attractive pattern over the cheese.
- Sprinkle with spices and sauteed onions over top, then sprinkle with bread crumbs.
- Bake at 325u0b0 for 20 minutes until tomatoes are tender.
