Broccoli Deluxe
- 1 lb. broccoli or 2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen cut broccoli
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 2 Tbsp. all-purpose plain flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. milk
- 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
- 1/4 c. shredded sharp American cheese
- 1/4 c. shredded Velveeta cheese
- 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
- dash of pepper
- Cut up broccoli.
- Cook in covered pan in 1-inch boiling salted water until tender 10 to 15 minutes or cook frozen broccoli according to package directions.
- Drain.
- In saucepan, melt half of the butter or margarine.
- Blend in flour, salt and dash of pepper.
- Add milk.
- Cook, stirring constantly until thickened and bubbly.
- Reduce heat; blend in cream cheese until smooth.
