Turkey Meat Sauce
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 lb ground turkey (not breast)
- 1 (29 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 (10 ounce) can tomato puree
- 1 12 cups water
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon marjoram
- 12 teaspoon paprika
- 12 teaspoon basil
- 12 teaspoon salt
- In a large pot, heat the oil.
- Brown the garlic and sautee the onion.
- Add the meat and brown it untill all traces of pink have gone, breaking it up into smaller peices with a spatula or large spoon.
- Add the sauce, puree, water and spices.
- Give it a stir and let it simmer covered on low heat for about an hour, stirring every few minutes to prevent the bottom from burning.
- Serve over pasta.
