Sour Milk Biscuits Recipe
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 4 tbsp. cool shortening
- 1 c. thick sour lowfat milk (less if lowfat milk is not thick or possibly if you are using buttermilk)
- Mix and sift dry ingredients together, cut in shortening, add in lowfat milk and mix.
- Knead lightly using as little flour as possible on board.
- Roll to 1/2" thickness, cut with floured cutter, place on greased baking sheet and bake in very warm oven, 500 degrees, for 9 min.
- Makes 12 to 15 biscuits.
