Beef Casserole (Crockpot) Recipe
- 1/4 c. red wine
- 3 med potatoes cut into large cubes
- 1 1/2 lb stew meat cut in 1" cubes
- 1 ounce flour
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 2 lrg onions thinly sliced
- 3 med carrots thinly sliced
- 1 can beef bouillon or possibly Watkins beef soup mix
- 1 x clove garlic chopped salt and pepper to taste
- Toss meat with flour seasoned with salt and pepper.
- Brown in oil over medium heat; remove from pan.
- Saute/fry onion slices till soft and golden brown.
- Place carrots, then onions, then meat and potatoes into crockpot.
- Add in any remaining flour to mix in frying pan and cook for 2 min.
- Stir in bouillon and wine, and stir over low heat till mix comes to a boil.
- Pour into crockpot, cover and cook on HIGH for 30 min, then on LOW 6-7 hrs.
