Sauerkraut Meat Loaf Recipe
- 1 (16 ounce.) can sauerkraut
- 1 med. onion, diced
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 2 Large eggs
- 1/3 c. lowfat milk
- 1 tbsp. prepared mustard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1 pound grnd chuck
- 1 pound sausage
- 2 c. rye bread crumbs
- 1/3 c. catsup
- 1/3 c. brown sugar
- Drain kraut well and snip up fine.
- Saute/fry onion in butter till soft.
- Beat Large eggs slightly in large bowl, stir in lowfat milk, mustard, salt, pepper and thyme.
- Add in sauerkraut, onion mix, grnd chuck, sausage, and bread crumbs.
- Mix well.
- Shape into loaves.
- Mix catsup and brown sugar in bowl; set aside.
- Bake loaves at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
- Baste with catsup mix after 45 min.
