Stuffed Peppers Sicilian

  1. Slice tops from peppers; chop tops and reserve.
  2. Scoop out seeds and membrane from peppers.
  3. In skillet cook onion, reserved green peppers, celery and garlic in hot oil until tender.
  4. Add meat; cook until browned.
  5. Spoon off excess fat.
  6. Stir in tomato puree, salt and pepper.
  7. Sprinkle salt inside pepper shells. Spoon meat mixture into the peppers.
  8. Sprinkle cheese over filling.
  9. Place in small baking dish.
  10. Bake, uncovered, in 350u0b0 oven for 35 minutes.
  11. Makes 3 servings, 169 calories per serving.
