Chocolate Syrup Pound Cake
- 1/2 lb. margarine, softened
- 1/4 c. Crisco
- 1 (5 oz.) can chocolate syrup
- 3 c. sugar
- 3 c. plain flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. milk
- 5 eggs, separated
- Preheat oven to 325u0b0.
- Grease a tube pan.
- Beat separated egg whites until stiff; set aside.
- Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
- In a mixing bowl, blend together sugar, margarine and Crisco; beat until creamy.
- Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating after each.
- Add chocolate syrup.
- Alternately add milk and flour mixture to creamy mixture.
- Add beaten egg whites.
- Add flavoring last; beat well.
- Pour into greased tube pan.
- Bake for 1 1/2 hours.
- Let cool; remove from the pan.
