Chocolate Syrup Pound Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 325u0b0.
  2. Grease a tube pan.
  3. Beat separated egg whites until stiff; set aside.
  4. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
  5. In a mixing bowl, blend together sugar, margarine and Crisco; beat until creamy.
  6. Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating after each.
  7. Add chocolate syrup.
  8. Alternately add milk and flour mixture to creamy mixture.
  9. Add beaten egg whites.
  10. Add flavoring last; beat well.
  11. Pour into greased tube pan.
  12. Bake for 1 1/2 hours.
  13. Let cool; remove from the pan.
