Vanilla Cupcakes
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/4 cups butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 6 large eggs
- 1/3 cup milk
- Rich Vanilla Buttercream Frosting, colored pale pink and yellow
- Metallic or colored dragees, for garnish (optional)
- Muffin pan
- Paper baking liners
- Pastry bag fitted with-star tip
- Preheat the oven to 350F (180C).
- Line a 12-cup muffin pan with paper liners.
- Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl.
- Add the butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and milk.
- Beat with an electric mixer for 3 minutes, until pale and fluffy.
- Divide among the muffin cups.
- Bake 2530 minutes, until golden brown.
- Let cool in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Pipe a swirl of frosting on top of each cupcake and decorate with the dragees, if using.
