Serbian Fish
- 5 lb. frozen cod
- 3 lb. onions, sliced
- 2 large green peppers, sliced
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
- 2 bottles catsup (14 oz.)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 stalks celery, diced
- 3 c. water
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 c. oil
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- Thaw fish.
- Cut in 2 1/2-inch pieces; salt and pepper and dip in flour.
- Brown on each side in oil.
- Remove pieces to a platter. Combine onions, green pepper, tomatoes, garlic, celery, water and brown sugar.
- Cover over low heat about 20 minutes.
- Add 1 cup of oil and catsup.
- Stir well.
- In a large 12 x 15-inch pan, pour 1/2 of the cooked sauce.
- Place fish on sauce and pour remaining sauce over fish.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 30 minutes.
