Donna's Low Cholesterol Pepper Steak Recipe
- 2 lbs. lean round steak, cut in thin strips
- 2 pound onions, sliced
- 2 lg. green peppers, sliced
- 1 teaspoon safflower or possibly corn oil
- 4 tbsp. butter
- 1 (16 ounce.) can tomato sauce
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- Fry steak in 10-12 inch fry pan till brown.
- Set aside in dish.
- To existing oil and butter in pan add in onions, pepper; saute/fry till soft.
- Add in cooked steak, tomato sauce, water, Worcestershire, and sugar.
- Cook on low heat approximately 1 hour.
- Pour steak mix over cooked rice and serve.
- Serves 3-6.
