Zwiebel Kuchen(German Onion Pizza)

  1. Make dough from first four ingredients and 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 cup butter and 2 eggs.
  2. Mix all ingredients together at one time.
  3. Let set 30 minutes.
  4. Cut bacon into small pieces and saute in 1/8 cup butter.
  5. Cut onions into thin slices.
  6. Add to bacon, simmering until golden.
  7. Let cool.
  8. Roll out crust (dough will be sticky, use flour as needed).
  9. Place on a large greased cookie sheet.
  10. Flute edges.
  11. Spoon 1/2 cup sour cream over entire crust. Mix remaining sour cream, 1/2 teaspoon salt, caraway seed and 2 eggs.
  12. Spoon onion mixture over the sour cream and top with the sour cream and egg mixture.
  13. Bake in a preheated oven at 450u0b0 for 35 minutes or until golden brown.
  14. Cut and serve warm.
  15. Very traditional in our area in the Fall.
