5 Spice Pork and Potato
- 3 lg. russet potatos
- 2 tbsp. canola oil
- 1 lb. lean boneless pork (shoulder
- butt), cut into strips
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-1/2 cup water
- 3 tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 2-3/4 tsp. Chinese 5 spice powder
- 1/3 cup sliced green onions
- Peel potatoes and cut crosswise into 1/2 inch slices; set aside.
- Place wok on high or if using gas, use high flame.
- When hot, add oil.
- Once oil starts to get hot add pork and garlic; stir fry until pork is browned.
- Add potatoes, water, soy sauce, sugar and 5 spice.
- Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover and simmer for about 20 minutes or until potatos are done.
- Turn off heat and add the green onion, mix together.
- Serve with steamed rice.
