Soft Pretzels
- 3/4 c. very warm water
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. bread flour
- regular flour
- 1 beaten egg with 1 Tbsp. water
- Dissolve yeast in warm water in large mixing bowl.
- Stir in sugar and salt until completely dissolved.
- Beat in bread flour. Gradually stir in regular flour until dough is no longer sticky. Place dough on floured board.
- Knead for at least 5 minutes or until smooth and elastic.
- Round into a ball.
- Let dough rise 10 minutes in a warm place.
- Divide into 6 to 8 equal pieces. Preheat oven to 450u0b0.
- Roll each piece of dough into a 15 to 20-inch coil.
- Shape it into a pretzel.
- Salt one side of each pretzel and place them on a greased baking sheet.
- Brush with beaten egg.
- Bake 12 minutes at 450u0b0.
