Stove Top/Skillet Macaroni and Cheese
- 14 cup butter or 14 cup margarine
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 12 teaspoons oregano
- 8 ounces macaroni
- 3 12 cups milk
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- Melt butter in skillet.
- Add onion and saute until tender.
- Stir in flour, salt and oregano.
- Add macaroni and milk.
- Cover and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes or until macaroni is tender.
- Stir occasionally.
- Add cheese and stir until cheese is melted (DO NOT BOIL).
