Italian Meat Loaf

  1. Preheat oven to 375u0b0.
  2. Tear bread into pieces.
  3. Combine bread and milk in a small bowl and squeeze into a soft pulp.
  4. In a large bowl, combine beef, bread and milk mixture, eggs, sausages, Parmesan cheese, nutmeg, salt and pepper.
  5. Mix thoroughly.
  6. Shape into a large loaf about 10 inches long x 3 inches thick.
  7. Coat meat loaf with bread crumbs.
  8. Bake 20 to 25 minutes, until golden. Add wine.
  9. Bake 10 minutes longer.
  10. Add tomatoes.
  11. Bake 30 to 40 minutes longer, basting with sauce a few times during cooking. Cool 5 to 10 minutes before slicing.
  12. Serve with a few tablespoons of sauce over meat loaf.
  13. It's wonderfully moist.
  14. Throw a few carrots in the pan while cooking for a veggie.
