Better Than Hamburger Helper!
- 2 cups Uncooked Whole Wheat Egg Noodles
- 1/2 whole Yellow Onion, Diced
- 1/2 pounds Lean Ground Beef
- 1/4 cups 1% Cottage Cheese
- 2 ounces, fluid 1/3 Less Fat Philadelphia Cream Cheese
- 1 Tablespoon Sour Cream
- 8 ounces, fluid Tomato Sauce
- 4 ounces, fluid Canned Diced Tomatoes
- 2 Tablespoons Green Onion, Diced
- 1/2 cups Green Pepper, Diced
- 1 clove Garlic, Minced
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric
- 1 dash Garlic Salt
- 1/2 teaspoons Black Pepper
- 2 Tablespoons Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese
- Cook egg noodles according to package directions.Omit the salt.
- In a medium skillet, add onions after spraying with cooking spray.
- Saute about 2 minutes and add the ground beef.
- Brown.
- While browning, mix cottage cheese, cream cheese, and sour cream in small bowl, set aside.
- Remove skillet from heat and add sauce, diced tomatoes, green onions, green pepper, garlic, turmeric, garlic salt, black pepper.
- Mix well.
- In a 1.5-qt baking dish, layer half of the noodles, meat mixture, all the cheese, the remaining noodles, meat mixture, and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
- Bake 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees.
